WOMAN IN INTERIOR CONSTRUCTION

AOTEAROA (WICA)

Women in Interior Construction Aotearoa (WICA) is a national collective dedicated to uplifting, connecting, and championing women across the Interior Building sector.

We bring together tradespeople, business owners, administrators, project managers, health and safety professionals, and industry partners who share a commitment to growing representation, strengthening capability, and building an industry where women can thrive at every stage of their career.

In partnership with the Association of Wall and Ceiling Industries (AWCI), we advocate for visibility, equitable opportunities, and meaningful pathways into our trades and professions. Whether you’re on the tools, in design, project management, manufacturing, education, or leadership — WICA is your community.

Our Mission

To grow a thriving, visible, and connected community of women across the Interior Construction sector. We champion equitable opportunities, strengthen pathways into our trades and professions, and advocate for an industry where women can build successful, sustainable careers. Through collaboration with AWCI and our wider industry partners, we work to elevate representation, capability, and leadership for women at every stage of their journey.

Our Focus

  • Raise visibility of women in Interior Construction
  • Support attraction and retention of women across the industry
  • Provide advice and recommendations to AWCI.
